The city is located in the northeastern part of South Korea on the shores of the East Sea.  There are two bus terminals from where buses run to Seoul and other parts of the Gangwon province.  Seoul buses run each 30 minutes from each bus terminals.

Expo Tower

75 meter Expo Tower stands right by Cheongchoho lake.  Around the tower is located central park  which offers a nice view to the lake.  There are shops with bicycles and electric scooters rentals around Expo Tower.  The tower itself was had been built in preparations of hosting 1999 1999 Gangwon International Tourism Expo.   From the top of the tower beautiful blue waters of the East Sea will be visible.

Welcome to Rodeo Street

The main character of this street 
Each year in December 31 thousands of people from other cities flock to Sockho to meet the New Year's sunrise on January 1st.  


Not far from this pavilion is the main lighthouse of Sokcho city.  In order to get to the top it takes some little hiking to the top of a rocky hill where the lighthouse sits.


Chongchoho Lake and Lake Yongrangho - two big eyes of Sokcho. Because, if you look at Sokcho from the sky, the pure water surface of lakes seems like the two eyes of a giant. At nightfall flashing colored lights fall on the lakes' surfaces transforming charming lake to a romantic walking place.

In order to a good look at the majestic mountains of Seoraksan, you have to ride on the cable car.You will experience an unforgettable impression.  The cab moves at a speed of 16km/h and gets on top in 3 minutes.
